One encryption model on every plan
There is no weaker free tier. Every GBpass account uses the same zero-knowledge architecture: keys derived from your Master Password and Secret Key with Argon2 + PBKDF2, a separate key for every vault and every item, and everything sealed with AES-256-GCM on your device before it syncs. Paying changes how much room you get. It never changes how well your data is protected. And GBpass is funded by subscriptions, not your data: no ads, no profiling, ever.
Pricing FAQ
Is the Free plan really free?
Yes. Free forever, no credit card. You get unlimited passwords and passkeys, sync across all your devices, autofill, secure sharing, and 250 MB of encrypted file storage. Personal is there for when you outgrow that.
Is the Free plan less secure than Personal?
No. Both plans use exactly the same zero-knowledge encryption: keys derived from your Master Password and Secret Key with Argon2 + PBKDF2, separate keys for every vault and item, and AES-256-GCM applied on your device before anything syncs. The Security Guide explains how the keys work.
How does the 30-day free trial work?
One tap starts it. There is no plan to pick first. You get the full Personal plan, including all 20 GB, for 30 days. Manage or cancel it anytime from Google Play.
Why is the yearly price lower?
Paying monthly costs $2.99/month, which comes to $35.88 a year. Paying annually costs $23.88 for the year. That works out to $1.99/month, so you save $12.00.
What counts toward my storage?
Files do. Passwords, passkeys, and notes take up very little space, so 250 MB is plenty for a large and growing collection of entries. It is attachments (scans, photos, PDFs, and video) that fill a plan up. Individual files can be up to 100 MB, and Personal gives you 20 GB to put them in.
What payment methods do you accept?
Payments are processed through the Google Play Store. All payment methods supported by Google Play are accepted.
Can I switch plans later?
Yes, you can upgrade or downgrade at any time. Changes take effect at the start of your next billing cycle. See Manage your plan & billing for the steps.
Do you show ads or sell data on the Free plan?
No. Not on any plan. GBpass is funded by subscriptions, not advertising. There are no ads, no profiling, and your information is never sold. The privacy promise is the same whether you pay or not.
