Account Deletion Policy

1. Overview
This policy explains what happens when you delete your GBpass account, including what data is removed, how long the process takes, and what to expect at each step.
2. How to Request Account Deletion
You can delete your account in two ways:
In-App
Go to Settings › Account › Delete Account and follow the on-screen steps.
Via Email
Send a deletion request to [email protected] from the email address linked to your account.
You may be asked to verify your identity before the deletion process begins.
3. What Gets Deleted
When your account deletion is confirmed, the following data will be scheduled for permanent deletion:
- Your encrypted vault data (passwords, notes, credit card details, identity data, and files)
- Your account profile and email address
- Subscription and billing records managed by GBpass
- Device and session information
- Support communication history
Because GBpass uses encryption that prevents us from viewing your data, we cannot recover any vault data once it has been deleted.
4. Grace Period
After you confirm your deletion request, your account enters a 14-day grace period. During this period:
- Your account remains fully functional — you can log in, sync your data, and use all features as normal.
- You can change your mind at any time before the grace period ends by going to Settings › Account › Cancel Deletion, or by contacting [email protected].
If you do not cancel within 14 days, the deletion becomes permanent and cannot be reversed. Once expired:
- Your account will be locked — login and data sync will no longer be possible.
- All your encrypted vault data will be permanently deleted from our servers.
- All encryption keys associated with your account will be permanently destroyed.
Security note: To submit a deletion request, you will be required to enter your master password. This ensures only you can initiate the process.
5. After the Grace Period
Once the 14-day grace period ends:
- All your data is permanently deleted from our servers.
- No data can be restored or recovered by GBpass or by you.
- Your email address will become available for new account registration.
6. Subscriptions
Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active subscription. If you subscribed through Google Play or the Apple App Store, you must cancel your subscription separately through the respective app store to avoid further charges.
7. Shared Data
If you shared passwords or vault items with other GBpass users before deletion:
- Shared items that were copied to another user's vault will remain in their vault.
- Items that were only shared (not copied) will be removed when your account is deleted.
8. Data We Cannot Delete
GBpass does not control data held by third-party services. This includes:
- Payment and billing records managed by Google Play or the Apple App Store.
- Any data you exported or saved outside of GBpass.
